Digital ID Cards Now Available

Well before the COVID-19 public health emergency struck our state, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana was working to provide digital ID cards for our members. Blue Cross members may now access their ID cards from their mobile device and online through the member portal.

Members will need an online account to access their digital ID card. They can register at www.bcbsla.com/login. Once in the member portal, they’ll see My ID Card with a dropdown menu of the ID cards available for viewing, which can be saved as PDF files.

Members may also access their ID cards from the BCBSLA mobile app. A future release of this app will allow them to save the image to their phones.

Please note that digital ID cards are currently available for medical policies only.

MLR and MSP Online Group Leader Survey Now Live

Every year, federal law requires us to collect information about our groups, and report that information to the federal government in order to satisfy Medical Loss Ratio (MLR*) and Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) requirements.

To make it easy for the group leaders to give us this information, we provide a secure and simple online survey, which collects all of the information we need in one place, at one time. The information the group provides to us is important, and the survey is required to be completed by June 12, 2020.

A fully insured group letter and ASO group letter have recently been mailed to group leaders with information on how to access and complete the survey. Please encourage your group clients to complete the survey accurately and as soon as possible.
